2 am, July 14, Safety Harbor, FL
We are home! We arrived in FL last Thursday am, July 6th. I didn't sleep more than a few minutes on plane, so Thursday was spent napping, interupted only by my need to offer the most basic care to my two children. Before hitting the couch, I made Maia a huge pot of mac & cheese and handed her the remote. Needless to say, she was a happy camper for the remainder of the day (unlike me, Maia slept from sea to shining sea). I planted Kiana on the floor with a bunch of new toys, and she too was happy most of the day. I vaguely remember giving her bottles, but I think I was sleep-feeding. I did venture out of the house on Thursday evening to walk Kiana around the cul-de-sac. My plan worked well and a few neighbors came out to welcome us home, including new parents Jason and Sarah and their 6 week-old daughter, Andie.
On Friday it took me until 2 pm to get everyone ready to leave the house so we could make a run to Costco and Target and pickup Gracie from the kennel. More on wonderful, crazy Gracie later.
The last 8 days have been very, VERY busy and updating the blog has not been on the top 10 list of things to do. Heck, I haven't even opened up all of my mail yet. I admit that I'd forgotten how much laundry a small baby can generate.
This post is really just to let everyone who is still looking at our blog know that it has not been abandoned. In fact, I have decided to keep adding posts to FlyUsToTheMoon so anyone who wants can keep up on the antics of Maia and Kiana. I'm finally entering the 21st century and am getting high-speed internet, so I'll even be able to add pictures. Add FlyUsToTheMoon to your favorites and I promise to add more posts about the girls. (And I haven't forgotten that I still need to add our Hanoi travels).
